Students of the Month

May



Brookelyn Craig is our Student of the Month in Mrs. Terhaar's Kindergarten Classroom. She is a very hard worker and always tries her best. She is honest, friendly to everyone, and has excellent manners. I am so glad to have Brookelyn in my Kindergarten Classroom this year. Keep up the good work, Brookelyn.

Dylan Kinney is the student of the month for Mrs. Ridgway’s class. Dylan is a super hard worker, and is always willing to help other students.  Dylan always walks into the door with a positive attitude and smile on his face. Also, Dylan is one of the best problem solvers. He never says anything is too hard, and works at the issue until he figures out the correct way or answer.  I’m very proud to have had Dylan in my class, and can’t wait to see what wonderful things come for him, in the future!!!!

Sofie Murray is the student of the month in Mrs. Woodbury’s first grade classroom.  Sofie is very thoughtful and creative. She loves to read, sing, dance, and have a good time.  Sofie is very helpful in the classroom, always willing to help anyone that needs help. I am glad to have Sofie in my first grade classroom.

Jayla Price is the student of the month for Mrs. Randall’s class. She loves to share her experiences with the class and always has great stories to tell. Her journal writings are usually filled with interesting details. When a new student arrived in our classroom, she has been very willing to help him keep up with the class. She has shown patience and understanding while working with the student. Jayla enjoys reading, writing, softball, sharing her drawings, spending time with her family, and friends. I have enjoyed watching her grow this year, hear about her family adventures, and her pet rabbit. It has been a pleasure to have her in class, and I am excited for what the future holds for her.

Kaitlyn Morgan is the student of the month in Mrs. McQueen’s class! Kaitlyn has been working so hard on her reading and math. Kaitlyn worked so hard to meet her NWEA goals and she not only met all three of her goals, but passed them! She is a good friend and polite to others.  Good job, Kaitlyn! We are so proud of you!

Bryson Webb is Student of the Month for Second Grade in Mrs. Parker’s class.  Bryson has several great Character Traits and I am so impressed with Bryson’s conscientiousness.  Bryson is an excellent student and shows a strong academic understanding in ALL subject areas.  He is very interested and involved in our classroom discussions and has insightful comments. He has the desire to do things well, to the absolute best of his ability.  Bryson is thorough, careful, efficient and vigilant in his efforts toward hard work and learning. I feel lucky to have had him as a student this year. Bryson has a bright future and I will enjoy seeing and hearing about his future accomplishments.

Our Student of the Month in Mr. Kosisko’s classroom is Cendall Osterholt.  Cendall is a polite young lady who has been working hard in all of her subjects, always tries her best, and  takes pride in her work. She is a good reader and likes to read books about all kinds of horses. Cendall also works hard in Math too. She is very close to earning her XtraMath certificate in Multiplication. Her scores on the Multiplication Facts tests keep getting better and she is very close to getting a 100%! Cendall came to Randolph Southern Elementary this year and has made lots of friends. She is a great employee of  Room 230 inc. and a good role model for other students. Cendall is dependable, and I can always count on her to be a good citizen and follow rules. I’m glad Cendall is in Room 310. Keep up the good work Cendall!

Brody Mills is the May Student of the Month for Mrs. Price’s class.  Brody is an amazing worker in the classroom. He works very hard on his school work and loves to learn new things.  Brody has the best determination and perseverance. He never gives up on the most challenging problems. Brody is very kind and caring.  He is always a great friend to all of his classmates. Congratulations Brody on being our student of the month for May! Great job, Brody

Aldi Sanchez-Diaz is the student of the month for May in Miss Kirkman’s room. Aldi has been a hard worker all year. He has greatly improved in Math and Reading. He comes to school with a positive attitude and ready to learn! His classmates have also noticed how good of a listener and hard worker he is. They agree that Aldi is kind to his classmates and is a great friend to have. He has been a joy to have in class this year, and I hope he keeps improving and making positive choices in fifth grade!

Sarah Glunt is Room 322’s Student of the Month.  She is a joy to teach! She actively participates in class, is kind to others, and wants to learn.  Sarah always, always gives her best and goes above and beyond in her schoolwork. When she is learning new things, there is a twinkle in her eye!  Her sense of humor is a hoot. She doesn’t always convey that with words. Most of the time, it’s with the expression on her face. She is grounded and a wonderful role model for others.  I will certainly miss looking around the room next year and seeing she precious grin. She has been a true gift this year! I am convinced that she will do great things with her life.

Room 420’s Student of the Month is Macy Martzell

Mrs. Bowman and your fifth grade class

Ethan Wells  has been chosen as our final student of the month for this school year by Mrs. Robinson.  Ethan is a very even tempered, quiet student who has had a steady presence in our classroom all year.  You can always count on Ethan to do his very best work and always have all his assignments completed and turned in, in a timely manner.  Ethan makes me think of a “gentle giant” as he towers over the rest of us in a very caring way. He is friendly to everyone and I have never heard an unkind word come out of his mouth.  At school, Ethan has been involved in band, basketball, and enjoys reading Mike Lupica stories. I have been blessed to have Ethan as a student this year, and I know he has a very successful future ahead of him!!

Mrs. Meyer has selected Kobe Johnson as Student of the Month for Room 430, 6th Grade.  Kobe is well deserving of this honor. He has worked hard to overcome a negative attitude toward himself, school, and others.  Kobe’s grades have improved tremendously! He most recently performed very well on his Spring NWEA Tests. His organization has improved as well.  He uses his work-time in class wisely, or when assignments must be completed outside of class, he is sure to have them done. Thank you Kobe for working so hard to change your mindset.  You will certainly see these benefits in your future learning.

Miss Smith would like to nominate Elijah Hendrickson as the Student of the Month for May from Room 432 in 6th grade. Elijah has been working hard all school year. He has been a leader in our classroom this year. He is never afraid to ask questions about a lesson, assignment, or things going on outside of school. He is also always eager to lend assistance to anyone in need. He has been polite to all his classmates and I have enjoyed working with him this year. Elijah has shown strength in all subject areas and grown exponentially in class. I look forward to watching what is in store for him as he continues to learn and grow. Fantastic job, Elijah!!

Mrs. Mosier has made her selection for Art student of the month for May and has selected Sandy Ramirez Ortiz. When I think of a hard worker, I think of Sandy!  She gives 110% on every project she tackles in Art! Sandy is always kind and considerate of others.  She is always the first one there to help anyone in need, even if it is just a kind word! I have TRULY ENJOYED having Sandy in my class this year, and look forward to many more years with her!

Brayleigh Price is Student of the Month for Music. Brayleigh is an exceptional student not only this month, but has been since Kindergarten. She has a smile that brightens everyone’s day and a great attitude to go along with it. She is always conscientious about her school work and strives to always do the right thing. She is a very respectful young lady and a joy to have in class. I will miss seeing you in the elementary building next year, Brayleigh!

The student receiving the Student of the Month for Mr. Murray’s classroom is Jayden Jordan.  Jayden  has done a great job this past month at giving his best effort and working his hardest at learning new and even some difficult skills.  He has shown much more responsibility in the last few months, by completing his assignments on his own and using the learning strategies he has been taught in class to complete his work independently.  He has grown a lot this year and we are proud of him! Great job Jayden and continue to do your best!!

Adalynn Slick is the Speech Star of the Month! Adalynn gives great effort during each speech session. She has a wonderful attitude and always works hard. She is also very polite and friendly to others. I enjoy working with Adalynn! High five, Adalynn!

P.E. Student of the month is Dayzon Mazariegos.   Dayzon works hard every time he comes to P.E. and always has a smile on his face.  Dayzon gives a 100% in his grade. Keep up the good work, Dayzon. He also works hard in my ESL group.  Keep up the good work.

Valeria Soria is our student of the month in Mrs. Terhaar’s kindergarten classroom.  Valeria is a hard worker and always does her very best. She is a great role model for the class.  Valeria is very polite, helpful, generous, and even became a translator for me and another student in our classroom.  I am proud of her accomplishments and am very glad to have her in kindergarten this year. Keep up the good work!

Mia Grimes is the student of the month for Mrs. Ridgway’s class.  Mia works hard everyday to get her work done and be the best friend.  I can always count on Miss Mia to do the right thing, and help anyone!  She’s a very good student, but isn’t afraid to ask questions, when she has them!  Anyone would be very lucky to have Mia in their class, and I’m very proud of the student and friend she’s grown into over the time span of this year!

Makayla Minnis is the student of the month in Mrs. Woodbury’s first grade classroom.  Makayla enjoys coming to school each day. She loves to read and is a very good reader.  Makayla is a hard worker and always does her best at whatever she is doing. I am glad to have Makayla in my first grade classroom.

Doris Perez-Herrera is the student of the month in Mrs. Randall’s 1st grade class. Doris is a student that lights up a room when she smiles. She enjoys reading, drawing, and writing. In her drawings, she is learning to add wonderful colorful details. As a writer she is growing every day. Doris is eager to learn new things and strives to do her best. She meets all her challenges with a smile and great effort.  When a fellow classmate needs a helping hand Doris eagerly jumps up to help. She wants everyone to be successful. I have enjoyed watching Doris grow and bloom as a first grader. I am excited to see what the future holds for her.

Izabella Sortina is the student of the month in Mrs. McQueen’s class! Izabella has been working so hard on her reading and math. She set reading goals and has been working to meet them. She is a good friend and polite to others.  Good job, Izabella! Keep up the GREAT work!

Mrs. Parker has the pleasure to nominate Maleeya James for Student of the Month.  Maleeya has many great character traits and one of them is that of respect.  She is very respectful of others of all ages. Maleeya follows the “Golden Rule” and is tolerant and accepting of differences. “Sweet Maleeya ” is considerate of the feelings of others which explains why she is so well liked by her classmates.  Maleeya is a wonderful young lady and it is my privilege to be her teacher.

Our Student of the Month is Cloee Osterholt. Cloee always comes through the door every morning enthusiastic and ready to learn. She is polite and is a good friend to her classmates. Cloee has been working hard in all of her subjects, takes pride in her work, and always tries her best on each assignment. She is a good reader and enjoys all kinds of books. She particularly likes learning about dinosaurs.  Cloee is working hard in Math too and is very close to earning her XtraMath certificate in Multiplication. She also scored a 98% on her last two Multiplication Facts tests! Cloee is new to Randolph Southern this year and has made many friends. She is a good role model for other students. She is dependable and I can always count on her to follow rules and be a good citizen. I’m glad Cloee is in Room 310. Keep up the good work Cloee!

Joselyn Smith is the April Student of the Month for Mrs. Price’s class.  Joselyn is an amazing worker in the classroom. She works very hard on her school work and loves to learn new things.  Joselyn is a very creative thinker and problem solver. She is very kind, caring, and helpful. She is always a great friend to all of her classmates.  We are very fortunate to have her in our class. Congratulations Joselyn on being our student of the month for April! Great job, Joselyn!

Jaylee Sutherland is the student of the month in Miss Kirkman’s room for the month of April. Jaylee has done a fantastic job following classroom rules and procedures at all times. She has worked very hard to improve her Math skills throughout the year. Jaylee comes to school with a positive attitude and excited to learn. She is kind to her classmates and very quick to lend a helping hand whenever needed. I appreciate Jaylee’s willingness to help whenever needed. She works hard and stays focused on her work to get tasks completed. I have enjoyed watching Jaylee grow into the wonderful student that she is. Keep up the great work!

Taryn Thorn is room 322’s Student of the Month for April. Taryn has set goals for herself to become a better student and a better person.  She actively takes part in class discussions and listens when lessons are taking place. Taryn tries to help others when they need it.  She has worked to improve her reading and has been moved into another reading group because of this! I am very proud of her and look forward to watching her continued growth and improvement.  Keep up the effort, Taryn, and continue to set new goals. I am very proud of you!

Room 420’s Student of the Month is Riley McCarthy

Riley Burke is the Student of the Month for Mrs. Robinson’s class. Riley moved to Randolph Southern this year from Ohio.  She has been a wonderful addition to our classroom and school. Riley is quiet until she gets to know you. She is extremely respectful to adults and other students.  The students enjoy Riley because she has a wonderful sense of humor and is a very dedicated student. When there is work to do, Riley never procrastinates and gives 100% percent effort, which is evident by her getting on the A-B honor roll this last 9 weeks.  If Ohio needs to send more students our way, and they are like Riley, we will be lucky to have them! Thank you for serving as a role model each day Riley with your great attitude,outstanding choices and work ethic.


Mrs. Meyer has selected Kayan Younger as Student of the Month for Room 430, 6th Grade. Kayan has worked extremely hard this year to earn this honor. She does an amazing job of paying attention during lcass lessons. She is an advocate in her own learning and will often raise her hand when she isn’t understanding a new concept. Kayan’s organization skills have allowed her to complete tasks to her best ability. With her great organization skills, she had been an excellent helper to several of our new student in Room 430. Thanks for being a great example at RSE, Kayan!

I would like to nominate Juztice Slick as the Student of the Month for April from Room 432 in 6th grade. Juztice has been working hard all school year. She is quiet in class, but she will still raise her hand to volunteer to answer questions.  She also is not afraid to admit when she makes a mistake and asks for help when she does not understand a skill that we have been working on in class. Juztice is also a member of the band this year, as well as being a member of the volleyball, basketball, and track teams. She is an exceptional role model for other students in the classroom as well as in athletics. Keep up the great and hard work, Juztice! You are going to accomplish many fantastic things the rest of this year :)

Katy Ward is absolutely amazing in Art!  She is such a role model for all of her peers!  There is not a task, whether it be painting or cleaning up paint trays, she doesn’t give 110% on!  She consistently wants to do her best in all she does! It is a true joy to have Katy in class!!

Tanner Stinson is this month’s Student of the Month for Music. Tanner is very good at remembering the musical ideas I have taught and is always willing to give the answers in class when musical questions are asked (and he’s almost always correct too!). Keep up the good work Tanner and keep working hard in all areas of music!

The student receiving the Student of the Month for my Mr. Murray’s classroom is Tristin Boggs.  Tristin has done a great job this past month at giving his best effort and working his hardest at learning new and even some difficult skills.  He has also shown some leadership qualities, while in the classroom, by showing other students how to complete math problems and even how to behave!  Great job Tristin and continue to do your best!!

Hollie Owens is April's Speech Star of the Month! She has been working hard to make her best speech sounds! I enjoy Hollie's smiling face and positive attitude. Hollie is a joy to work with, and I look forward to your continued progress! Keep up the great work!

P.E. Student of the Month is Zella Cook. Zella works hard every time she comes to P.E. and always has a smile on her face. Zella gives a 100% in her grade. Keep up the good work, Zella!

Brandon Garber is our student of the month.  Brandon is a very hard worker and always does his very best.  He is a great role model for the class. Brandon is very helpful, generous, and always ready to come to the aid of anyone in our school.  I am proud of his accomplishments and am very glad to have him in kindergarten this year. The student of the month for Mrs. Ridgway’s class is Gibson Burkhardt.  Gibson has shown so much growth and leadership since we came back from winter break.  I can count on Gibson to be a good leader, for all of the students to follow behavior wise and academically.  He has become such a focused worker and gets all of his work completed, with time to help others. Gibson, also, has become a wonderful listener, especially during our calendar time.  I know that I can count on Gibson to answer my questions, follow directions, and be a good friend. I’m proud to say that Gibson Burkhardt is the student of the month, and keeps improving more each day

Makenna Pollic is the student of the month in Mrs. Woodbury’s first grade classroom.  Makenna is very responsible. Makenna takes learning seriously and has become a very good reader and writer this year.  Makenna is also very helpful in the classroom. I can count on her to do any task that I give her. I am so proud of Makenna and I am glad she is in my first grade classroom.

Jordyn Martin is the student of the month for Mrs. Randall’s first grade class. Jordyn has discovered the wonderful joy of reading. She even asks if she can read for more than 20 minutes for homework because she loves to read. She has worked very hard this year to develop her reading skills.  In writing, her journals and stories have grown to include details and exciting events. As a first grade student, she is trying to take pride in her work and be a model for good behavior. She shows respect to her fellow classmates and the adults at Randolph Southern Elementary. If she sees a classmate struggling, she is willing to lend a helping hand. I have enjoyed watching Jordyn growth this year and I can’t wait to see what happens the last nine weeks. She is a pleasure to have in class.

Parker McCord has been chosen as Mrs. Parker’s second grade student of the month. Manners go a long way and Parker exhibits politeness and good manners.  Parker’s politeness is a reflection of who he is and his respect toward others. Parker has the good  habit of using the important key words. He is the first to say “thank you” in the class.  He also remembers to use “please”, “excuse me” and ”sorry” when communicating with others.  I am so glad to have Parker’s good attitude and smile as a part of our classroom. Way to go Parker!

Kaylee Kemplen is the student of the month in Mrs. McQueen’s class! Kaylee works hard every day and tries her best. She asks questions to check her understanding. Kaylee is also very polite and kind to everyone she works with. Good Job, Kaylee! Keep up the GREAT work!

Mr. Kosisko has selected Lane Cougill as Student of the Month.. Lane is new to Randolph Southern this year and has been doing a great job in all of his subjects. He has made many friends since coming to RSE. He is always polite and a good friend to everyone in the class. Lane always tries to do his best. He takes pride in his work, and works hard on each assignment. Lane enjoys reading and likes all kinds of books. Lane is dependable and a good worker for Room 230 inc.. Levi Kniesly is the March Student of the Month for Mrs. Price’s class.  Levi is an extremely hard worker in the classroom. He is very inquisitive and asks lots of great questions.  He will go the extra mile to research topics to learn new things. Levi is always very polite to his classmates and teachers.  He is a great friend who is willing to help others. Congratulations Levi on being our student of the month for March! Great job, Levi!

The student of the month for March in Miss Kirkman’s room is Daisy Morales. Daisy has done a fantastic job of meeting expectations this school year. She is always working quietly, giving her best effort, listening, and following directions. I know I can count on Daisy to always make good choices. She is also a great helper to her peers and a positive role model. Daisy is always respectful to all of the adults in the building. She has been working hard to learn some more advanced concepts in Math. I look forward to seeing Daisy every day because I know she comes to school with a positive attitude, and she is ready to learn! Keep up the great work!

Gunner Kirschbaum is room 322’s student of the month.  He is a wonderful role model for his classmates.  He always tries to make wise choices. Gunner does not allow himself to become overwhelmed if he has several things that need to get done or if he doesn’t understand a concept.  He will ask questions or he will use his sense of humor to help him get the job done! He has a kind heart and is courteous and thoughtful of others. Gunner is a joy to teach and I look forward to seeing that mischievous smile greeting me each morning. Mrs. Nicholson

Mrs. Robinson is overwhelmed with pride for Trenton Jeffries this 9 weeks of school and has selected him for Student of the Month.  At the awards program, last 9 weeks, he came back to the room saying, “My goal is to get to the gym floor for Honor Roll.”  Well, he just didn’t make Honor Roll, but did it with 5 A’s and 1 B+!!! Trenton can be a little fiesty and high spirited at times, especially about things he is very passionate about.  But, that drive and spirit where going in the right directions for him with his classwork, and his family will be so proud!! Trenton loves to be outside working with his dad and hunting whenever he gets a chance.  I was lucky enough to have Trenton twice, and I am so happy that I was able to watch him grow into a young man, making good choices and taking pride in himself. Congratulations Trenton, my heart pours over with pride at this accomplishment you achieved!

Mrs. Meyer has selected Adal Morales as Student of the Month for Room 430 6th Grade. Adal joined our RSE family this fall. He has worked extremely hard to accept the responsibilities of his learning in the classroom. Each day Adal puts forth his absolute best effort in order to reach the next level of his learning. He will often ask for clarification on concepts he doesn’t understand in an effort to become more independent in his learning. Keep setting your sights high Adal!

Miss Smith would like to nominate Sophi Chenoweth as the Student of the Month for March. Sophi has been working hard all school year. She is quiet in class, but she will still raise her hand to volunteer to answer questions.  She also is not afraid to admit when she makes a mistake and asks for help when she does not understand a skill that we have been working on in class. The student receiving the Student of the Month for Mr. Garrett’s  classroom is Makinzee Collins.  Whenever Makinzee comes in to the classroom, she is always ready to learn, and has a smile of her face.   Makinzee is eager to learn new skills and does not complain or get frustrated when she finds certain tasks to be hard.  She always tries her hardest! Great job Makinzee and continue to try your hardest!!

Mrs. Mosier has selected Gracie Minnis at the art student of the month. Gracie is an amazing art student!  She comes to every class excited and ready to create her art projects.  She not only has a positive attitude toward art, but has a positive attitude toward school!  Gracie is an outstanding role model for RSE!

Laney Varner is the Music Student of the Month. Laney transferred in to Randolph Southern Elementary just this year but has quickly adapted to the “Rebel Way.” Laney brings with her a great knowledge of music and isn’t hesitant to share answers in class. She is a joy to have in class and always willing to learn new things when given the opportunity. Laney retains the information presented to her and uses it to continue into the next topic. Great job Laney! Wish we could keep you at the elementary longer than just this year!

P.E. Student of the Month is Brayden Stinson. Brayden works hard every time he comes to P.E. and always has a smile on his face. Whenever I see him in the hall he wants to know if he has PE and what we are doing. His favorite thing to play is dodgeball. He is always willing to help if needed.

Wesley Cottongim is the Speech Student of the Month! Wesley gives great effort when working on his speech sounds. He is also a wonderful friend to others when working in a small group. Wesley always has a smile on his face and a great attitude when coming to speech. Way to go, Wesley!

Hannah Allen is our student of the month in Mrs. Terhaar’s kindergarten class.  Hannah has become a very hard worker and her writing has improved greatly.  She is a great role model for the class.  Hannah is very helpful, generous, and always ready to come to the aid of anyone in our school.  I am proud of her accomplishments and am very glad to have her in kindergarten this year.  Keep up the good work!

Mrs. Ridgway has chosen Miss Reagan Offutt as student of the month for my class.  Reagan is a very patient, helpful, and hardworking little girl.  From the first day of school she’s proven that hard work and determination will get your work completed.  Reagan is willing to help anyone with anything.  I wouldn’t have as neat of a classroom or all my papers passed, out without her help. Miss Reagan is ,also, a very good friend! Everyone in our class would agree, Reagan deserves to be our student of the month!!! Keep up the good work!

Jayley Foster is the student of the month in Mrs. Woodbury’s first grade classroom.  I am very proud of Jayley.  She has been working very hard to complete all of her assignments and homework.  She is working every day to become a better reader.  I am glad to have Jayley in my first grade classroom.

Ava McCarthy is the student of the month for Mrs. Randall’s class. She is a student who tries her best on every assignment and project she is given. She is willing to help other students who may need a helping hand throughout the day. Ava shows respect to the teachers and staff at Randolph Southern. Her interests are reading and crafts. She enjoys sharing with the class the new things she creates. She has a positive pleasant personality which makes her a joy to have in class. Rocky Phenis is the student of the month in Mrs. McQueen’s class! Rocky has been working incredibly hard in class. He is trying his best on all of his work and staying focused. Rocky is also very polite and kind to everyone he comes in contact with. Good job, Rocky! Keep up the GREAT work!

Evelynn Atkins is the Student of the Month in Mrs. Parker’s 2nd grade classroom. Evelynn is a “great” little person that shows “great” character in so many ways.  I have chosen her for the Student of the Month because of how Evelynn shows RESPONSIBILITY.  Evelynn does what she is supposed to.  She always does her best.  Evelynn uses great self-control and thinks before she acts.  Evelynn sets a good example for others.  WOW!!! Having a good moral character is so important and admirable. Congratulations Evelynn!

Our Student of the Month in Room 310 is Jacob Null. Jacob has been doing a great job in all of his subjects. He is always polite and a good friend to everyone in the class. Jacob is always ready to learn. He takes pride in his work, and always tries his best on each assignment. Jacob enjoys reading and likes many kinds of books. He’s good at Math too and has earned his XtraMath certificate in addition. He is very close to earning his XtraMath certificate in Subtraction!

Jacob has many friends at RSE. He is dependable and a good worker for Room 230 inc..  Jacob likes watches and recently bought a really cool pocket watch with the money he earned working for Room 230 inc.! I can always count on him to follow rules and be a good citizen. I’m glad Jacob is in Room 310. Keep up the good work Jacob!

Wendy Harris is the January Student of the Month for Mrs. Price’s class.  Wendy is an amazing worker in the classroom.  She works very hard on her school work and loves to learn new things.  Wendy is an avid reader who is constantly reading new books!  Wendy is very kind, caring, and helpful.  She is always a great friend to all of her classmates.  Congratulations Wendy on being our student of the month for January! The student of the month for January in Ms. Kirkman’s room is Adalynne Gambrel. She has been a fantastic 4th grader, and she has come back from break with a great attitude. Adalynne loves to read and tell silly stories about her pets. She is a hard worker in the classroom and at home, always finishing her assignments on time, and being sure she does her best work. When she makes a mistake, she is quick to realize the error and correct it. Adalynne has a kind heart and is a great friend and role model to her peers. Keep up the great work!

Student of the Month for Room 322 is Madison Godsey.  What an eager, focused learner!  Madison strives to always give her best effort.  She actively participates in her learning by raising her hand often, listening intently, and asking questions when she doesn’t understand a skill.  Madison is not afraid to work at a skill and is always willing to attempt something again if she doesn’t get it the first time.  She is quick to smile and always has a positive attitude and sweet disposition.  She is a true joy to teach and I am blessed to be her 4th grade teacher.

Your fifth grade class

Jamie Pegg and his family joined us at R.S.E. this year, and they are a wonderful addition to our school family. Jamie has made friends easily and is very caring to all the students he is around. His work ethic is outstanding, even when things are difficult at times. Jamie is never afraid to ask for help and works and works until he understands a new concept. Jamie comes to school with a great attitude and smile on his face each day. I am so glad that Jamie and his family are at R.S.E.!!

Mrs. Meyer has selected Aubrey Wise as Student of the Month for Room 430, 6th Grade. Aubrey displays much determination in her learning. She has shown maturity this year in setting attainable goals and putting forth great tenacity in achieving these goals. Aubrey often battles some health issues, but she doesn’t back down to these easily. She works through times that she doesn’t feel well and continues to put her sights on achieving her best in her learning.  Aubrey is also a wonderful help to her teachers and those around her. Thank you Aubrey for being a great role model to others. Keep up the great work!!!

Miss Smith would like to nominate Matt Burge as the Student of the Month for January. Matt had a great end to the 2nd nine weeks. He worked extremely hard to get his grades up and to finish his reading points project. Matt also earned enough points to go on our second incentive trip of the year. Matt is always nice to his peers as he holds the door open for anyone in the hallway. I hope to see this same positive spirit in the classroom again this semester. Keep up the great and hard work Matt! You are going to accomplish many fantastic things the rest of this year :)

Baron Durham has been selected as the Speech/Language Student of the Month by Mrs. Huxhold! Baron is giving great effort during language sessions, and he is more willing to share his thoughts and ideas! He also has a good attitude and is kind and polite to others. We enjoy Baron in our language group! Way to go, Baron!

Mr. Murray has chosen Daisy Durham as the student of the month for January.  Daisy has been doing such a great job in the classroom this past month!  In the past few months, she has been able to count and write her numbers up to 100 on her own!  She has also been able to recite all of the letters and all the sounds that they make!  She has been doing a great job at learning to read 2-, 3-, and 4-letter words on her own by sounding out the letter sounds and blending them together!

Look up the word enthusiastic, and you will find Logan Bond!  He is a wonderful student to have in Art and Mrs. Mosier has selected him as her student of the month. He is always willing to try any project that is put in front of him…with his usual enthusiasm!  Logan is also a great role model in Art for his classmates.  I am very proud of Logan, and the student he has become!  Keep up the great work Logan!!  

P.E. Student of the month is Trenton Jeffries. Trenton works hard every time he comes to P.E. and always has a smile on his face. Trenton gives a 110% in class. Keep up the good work Trenton!

Mason Ridgway is our student of the month in Mrs. Terhaar’s Kindergarten class.  Mason always obeys the rules and is a very hard worker.  He is a great role model for the class.  Mason is doing a great job in the cafeteria during lunch time.  I am proud of his accomplishment and am very glad to have him in kindergarten this year.  Keep up the good work!

David Jeffries has been selected as student of the month in Mrs. Stephan’s kindergarten class. David works hard in class getting his work done. He is kind to everyone in his class. David always has a smile on his face when he comes into class and continues to wear that smile throughout the day. He has a great personality that lights up the room and he listens very well.  He is also very helpful to his classmates when they need help with class work or clean up time with complaint. He works hard and it shows! Thank you, David, for being an outstanding student.

Carollee Brandon is the student of the month in Mrs. Woodbury’s first grade classroom.  Carollee is kind and respectful to other students.  She is very helpful to her classmates.  Carollee is a hard worker.  She tries very hard to make sure she is always following classroom and school rules.  I am glad to have Carollee in my first grade classroom.

Kinsley Bowman is the student of the month for Mrs. Randall’s first grade class. Every morning Kinsley walks into the room and eagerly waits to show me what she has worked on the night before. It could be a lovely drawing, creative story or some extra math problems she has practiced. Kinsley is a student who always tries her best and is eager to complete tasks correctly. She has a quiet polite personality, but is still willing to speak out and share her ideas and experiences. I look forward to watching Kinsley grow this year as a first grader and hear about the activities she has to share each morning.

Cameron Shumaker is the student of the month in Mrs. McQueen’s class! Cameron is always well-mannered and kind. He is an excellent friend and role model to everyone. Cameron always works very hard and tries his best! He is determined and doesn’t give up easily. Good job, Cameron! Keep up the GREAT work!

When I think of the character trait of “KINDNESS”,  I think of Aiden Sutherland.  For this reason, Aiden is Student of the Month for Mrs. Parker’s second grade classroom.  Aiden has such a positive disposition. He is considerate and helpful.  Aiden often helps his classmates and his teacher without being asked to do so. No matter how busy Aiden is, he still has time to do something nice for someone.  Because he is so kind, Aiden makes friends quickly and is well liked by his classmates.  Kindness counts!

Mr. Kosisko’s Student of the Month is Levi Vance. Levi has been doing a fantastic job and is always ready to learn. He is always polite and a good friend to everyone in the class. He has been working hard in all of his subjects, takes pride in his work, and always tries his best on each assignment. Levi likes to read and enjoys all kinds of books. The student of the month for October in Ms. Kirkman’s room is Braden Austin. He has been an outstanding student so far this year. Braden excels in Math and has been working hard on learning new multiplication algorithms. He has done an excellent job taking ownership of his own learning. He realizes when he has made mistakes and understands what he needs to do to improve in the future. Braden is a hard worker in class and is a model student for his peers when it comes to listening and following directions. Keep up the great work!

Aubrey Mills is Room 322’s student of the month.  She is highly motivated and excited about everything we do!  Aubrey is a very caring person and offers to help others when she sees them in need.  She encourages other students and tries to keep a positive attitude at all times.  She is really improving in math and I am very proud of her.  She’s a joy to teach!

Your fifth grade class

Jordan Black will be the student of the month in Mrs. Robinson’s 5th grade class. Jordan is the constant calm and level headed person that we need so badly in our classroom. She is always on task and working very diligently to do her best on her assignments. Jordan is more than happy to lend a helping hand to her classmates. Her fellow students know they can count on her to be nice and caring at all times. Jordan is very involved in her church, 4-H, band and loves to read. Congratulations Jordan for being our student of the month.

Mrs. Meyer has selected Colton Pegg as Student of the Month for Room 430, 6th Grade. Colton moved to Randolph Southern last month.  He has done a remarkable job of learning the routine in our classroom and what his role is within his own learning success. He does a great job of getting assignments completed in his best effort. He is very polite and is always willing to lend a kind word or helping hand. Colton has shown that he wants to push himself in his own learning. He will ask for help from others in order to fully understand how to complete tasks on his own. Miss Smith has nominated Brianna Smith as the Student of the Month for October. Brianna is a quiet leader in our classroom. She is always willing to help others around her. She is also a big help to Mrs. Bowman and Kinsley by getting Kinsley’s lunch ready each day. Brianna is a strong student in math and is also our highest point earner in reading so far. She always makes sure her work is complete and gives an excellent effort in everything that she turns in. Keep up the good work Brianna!

Mrs. Huxhold has selected Landon Godsey as the student of the month. Landon has made awesome articulation progress! He also gives great effort and participates during our speech/language sessions! Landon is very polite and respectful to other classmates and teachers. Keep up the hard work, Landon!

Mr. Murray’s student of the month is Jesse Smock. Jesse has made so much progress in the past month completing his daily goals. He has done a fantastic job following directions and finishing tasks when he is asked to. Jesse has also been more open to talking to his teachers and other students while in the classroom! Ms. Hinshaw has selected Payton Bragg as P.E. Student of the Month. Payton works hard every time she comes to P.E. and always has a smile on her face. Payton gives a 100% in her grade. Keep up the good work, Payton.

WOW! What a dynamic student Isobel Murray is!  She brings life and originality to Art Class like no other. Isobel has been selected by Mrs. Mosier as Art Student of the Month. Avery Stump is our “Student of the Month” in Mrs. Terhaar’s kindergarten class.  Avery is a great kindergarten student.  She always listens and follows classroom rules!  Avery has shown great determination in her school work and always follows the rules.  I appreciate her sweet personality, pretty smile, and fantastic work ethic.  It’s a joy to see her smiling face every morning and I am very pleased to have her in kindergarten this year.  Great job Avery!  Keep up the good work!

Mrs. Ridgway chosen Hallee Stewart for September Student of the Month. Hallee is truly a blessing to have in my class! She works really hard to get all of her work completed, and always puts all of her effort into every letter, number, or coloring page she completes.  Hallee is respectful to her friends and teachers.  She waits until others are done speaking before she will, and is very attentive when they’re speaking.  Hallee’s smile makes the room light up, and her positive attitude makes me keep during the rough times in class.  Keep up the hard work, Hallee!

Delilah Atkins is the student of the month in Mrs. Woodbury’s first grade classroom.  Delilah is very helpful to her classmates and always willing to help when help is needed.  Delilah is a good listener and is always paying attention.  I am glad to have Delilah in my first grade classroom.

Nicole Atjun-Pelico is student of the month for Mrs. Randall’s first grade class.  She has a very sweet quiet personality. In the classroom, she works well with everyone because she is willing to listen and share her ideas. She enjoys sharing her experiences during class share/community time. Her school assignments and homework are always neat and completed on time. She is respectful towards adults and follows the school rules. Nicole is a joy to have in class each day because she adds a ray of sunshine to the room. I look forward to watching her grow this year as a first grade student.

Abbey Ludwig is the student of the month in Mrs. McQueen’s class! Abbey is always so sweet and polite. She is so kind and helpful to others. Wyatt Flatter is nominated for the Student of the Month for Mrs. Parker’s 2nd grade class.  Wyatt has so many great character traits, perseverance is one of them.  Wyatt is such a hard worker, he is determined to complete his work,even if it’s difficult.  Wyatt also is bursting with kindness.  He is considerate and helpful.  We are lucky to have Wyatt, with his pleasant, kind attitude, in our classroom!

Mrs. Robinson has selected Mia Saylor as Student of the Month.  Mia is an absolute joy to have in our 5th grade classroom.  She has a very quiet manner in class, but you can tell she is constantly thinking, the wheels are turning, and she is problem solving. Mia was elected by her peers to serve on R.S. Student Council. This was an obvious choice for them because she is friendly and respectful to everyone. Mia does not get involved in drama and understands the importance of school. She has worked hard in cross country this year and keeps finishing in the top of the girls at her meets, making us all so proud that she is a Rebel. Congratulations, Mia for being our student of the month.

Mrs. Meyer has selected Jennifer Donell as Student of the Month for Room 430, 6th Grade.  Jennifer knows what grit and hard work mean.  This girl will go the extra mile to push herself to the furthest in her learning.  She takes notes in class as a way to help her review important skills and information.  Outside of class, she spends the extra time to make sure her homework is top quality and spends time doing extra studying.  Jennifer always has a smile on her face and offers much joy to those around her.  Thanks for role modeling positive behavior to others at Randolph Southern.

Miss Smith would like to nominate Ismer Ramirez as the Student of the Month for September. Ismer has already shown great growth this school year. He is not afraid to ask for help when he needs it, and he has also been a help to other students in the classroom when we are working on Code.org and other websites. Mrs. Wilson said he was great during Tech time and was able to help other students through their assignment. Ismer has also been doing a fantastic job each week on his Houghton-Mifflin tests. We look forward to what he will be able to do with us this school year. Keep up the good work Ismer.

Mrs. Mosier wants everyone to know that Haileigh Allen is an amazing Art student!  She is always going above and beyond in Art class!  Haileigh not only works hard on her projects, but she is always willing to help others with theirs.  Haileigh is also an excellent role model, in and out of class!  RSE is a better place because of students like Haileigh Allen!

Mr. Murray's Student of the Month for September is Makita Hinshaw.  Makita has really worked hard this past month!  She has already mastered two different sets of sight word lists and is working on another!  She has been staying focused during math lessons, and when topics become difficult, she tries her hardest to do her best work!  Great job Makita!

Ava is a wonderful Music student who always participates in all the activities that we do. She is always willing to answer questions and starts singing as soon as she knows how the songs go. Student of the Month - Ryker Strait
Ryker is our student of the month in Kindergarten Room 210.  Ryker comes to school everyday with a fantastic smile ready to learn.  He is very happy to be in school and has made many new friends.  Ryker is a great enthusiastic kindergarten student.  He is a great listener and always obeys the rules.  I am so glad Ryker is in my class!  Keep up the great work!

The student that Mrs. Ridgway has chosen to be our August Student of the Month is Jeffrey Feetham.  Jeffrey has all of the right qualities to be a wonderful leader in our classroom.  He tries really hard to help myself and other students, every day.  Jeffrey also tries really hard to make the right choices, to help himself and the rest of the class.  One of the best qualities that Jeffrey has is working really hard.  He works really hard to get his work done, and doesn’t give up, if he’s had a bad day! Amelia is the student of the month in Mrs. Woodbury’s first grade classroom.  Amelia is excited about learning and loves to sing and dance.  She is very caring and helpful to her classmates.  I am glad to have Amelia in my first grade classroom.

Tylan Long is the student of the month for Mrs. Randall’s first grade class. Tylan is a role model for the other students in his class. He sets an example on how to line up correctly and for the boys he is a great example on how to go to the bathroom without playing. Tylan has a pleasant and positive personality. When given a task he strives to do his best and complete his work on time. When he is around adults he is very respectful and polite. I enjoy having Tylan in my class because he works well in group situations and adds to classroom discussions. I am excited to watch Tylan grow this year as a first grader.

Dawsyn Kutche is the student of the month in Mrs. McQueen’s class! Dawsyn is a great role model for his friends and classmates. He is always polite, kind, and respectful to others.  Dawsyn likes to learn new things and makes great connections to what we are learning. Good job, Dawsyn! Keep up the GREAT work!

Austin Sifford
Austin is off to a great start this school year!  Austin works very hard on his school work and loves to learn new things. He takes initiative to help with classroom jobs.  Austin is always willing to listen and help anyone who needs it.  He is always a great friend to all of his classmates.  Congratulations Austin on being our student of the month for August! Trenton Gullett is Room 322’s Student of the Month.  He is a dedicated student who is only satisfied with his best effort.  Trenton is quick to volunteer to help in the classroom.  He follows directions and takes pride in his work.  When I teach, he is so respectful that he physically turns toward me to make sure he is giving me his full attention.  I really enjoy teaching him and love to see his smiling face come into the classroom each morning.  He is a fantastic role model for his fellow students.  Keep up the great work, Trenton!

Mrs. Robinson has selected Loren Garber as student of the Month from her 5th grade class.  I am so excited that Loren and I get to be together again this year in 5th grade. I have seen how he has bloomed with knowledge and confidence since 2nd grade. Loren always brings some of his excitement of learning into the classroom. Most recently he has kept us stocked up on caterpillars as we watch them try to turn into butterflies. All the kids in our room benefit from the way he thinks of others and want to make sure we all get to share in the excitement. Loren has an outstanding work ethic and amazing character. He will definitely always be a role model in his class for other students to look up to and strive to be like. Congratulations Loren!!

He has really worked on showing respect to others during times of participation by raising his hand and also learning to listen and value their input.  Tyler is also good to help others in need.  Thanks for role modeling positive behavior to others at Randolph Southern.

Miss Smith would like to nominate Jaxson Latello as the Student of the Month for September. Faith has shown great growth in reading and math this school year. Jaxson is extremely bright and brings and fun atmosphere to our classroom learning. He always has a smile on his face and is willing to help his classmates when a problem arises. He has gotten off to a great start this year in reading, by already complete two of his letters and also working on a project. Jaxson will tell you that he doesn’t like reading, but that doesn’t slow him down as he has work to accomplish. I look forward to how this year will progress as we continue learning together. Keep up the good work Jaxson!

Mrs. Harris has selected Alyssa Allen as student of the month.  Alyssa has a smile that can make anyone’s day a little brighter. Alyssa is very attentive in Music and tries to participate in all activities that are done. Her positive attitude and willingness to try and do her best are just a couple of the things that make Alyssa a great nominee for Student of the Month. Keep up the great work Alyssa and keep smiling!!   :)

Mr. Murray has selected Kya Fowler for Student of the Month.  Kya has been working very hard so far this year in the classroom.  She has been on task, working hard, and eager to raise her hand to participate in classroom discussions.  She is also a joy to have in class!  Great job so far Kya!!

Mrs. Hinshaw has selected Rexxy Hinshaw as Student of the Month.  Rexxy works hard every time he comes to P.E. and always has a smile on his face.  Rexxy is very helpful and is the first to volunteer when I need help.

Mrs. Mosier has selected Aidean James as Student of the Month. Aidean is a WONDERFUL artist!  He is very creative, and applies the elements of art in every project he makes.  Aidean is also an AWESOME role model in the Art room for my other students.  He always listens to directions, and properly puts away his materials.  I am very lucky to have him as a student at RSE!  Congratulations Aidean!
